  • To top it off, freelancers can quickly switch between projects. If you’re out of work and need to find something new, you’re already in the process of looking for a job when your old contract expires, says Lynda.

Hiring a full-time employee is better than hiring freelancers. When I have my employees working with me, they know what is going on and have the context necessary to complete the task, says Lori Founder of WigReports.

I find that there tends to be less miscommunication when thinking about your full-time employees than freelancers. When you get a new freelancer to work with you, there will be miscommunication until the freelancer becomes more familiar with your business.

Additionally, when you get a new employee for your company, they can take the initiative and make an impact straight away rather than trying to figure out what is going on.

  • Employees tend to be less tolerant of risk than freelancers, so if you have a project where the results aren’t as predictable as you’d like, go with a freelancer.
  • It takes longer and more effort to hire high-quality full-time employees because it’s a bigger commitment.
