As the old saying goes, “New year, new me,” but year after year many of us fall back into patterns that are simply too hard to change.

So, instead of making a big change right off the bat, why not set small steps for yourself this decade? Here are five ways you can put your best foot forward to rock your life.

1. Make time for yourself

You’ll never truly know what you want or the life you want for that matter if you don’t make time for yourself. Set aside time to be with you and you alone. Draw a bath, decorate your home, read a book, go to the gym, or write down your thoughts. Make this time personal to you!

2. Push yourself outside of your comfort zone

I’m sorry to be the one that bursts your bubble when I say that there is no easy time to try new or uncomfortable things.  Do it anyway. Putting yourself outside your comfort zone allows you to see things from a new perspective and grow in the process.

3. Drink more water

This might seem like an obvious one, but I can attest from personal experience that I feel 1000% better when I’m hydrated.  If water isn’t your thing then opt for a flavored sparkling water or natural pressed juice. Just make sure you treat your body well with plenty of fluids!

4. Write your goals down

Goals can seem overwhelming and grandiose when they’re in our head. So why not write them down? Putting your goals on paper makes them seem less intimidating and more manageable.  It will also help you to make a plan and stay on track.

5. Stop justifying your life to people who don’t have a clue

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me in my life “I would/could never do that,” then I would be a rich woman.  Honestly, insecure people love telling you about what life decisions you should make because they are uncomfortable with their own. Do you boo, and don’t concern yourself with the judgements of people who aren’t making your life choices on a day by day basis.
