While we build businesses, stress can sometimes build with it. Your ‘to-do list’ becomes as long as your days. Your workload is as full as your calendar.

You start with an early morning appointment, then a meet-up with clients, then lunch, then a conference call with the content team, then outreach, then another meeting, later strategizing the marketing plan, followed by finishing that report, before making that fifth coffee of the day…..

Breathe. Relax, here are some tips for you:

1. Find 5 minutes to visualize

Whether you are in the bathroom or at your office desk, it really pays to take 5 minutes out of your day at least twice a day to sit and visualise your long term plans. Applying this to your daily routine can really help to alter your self-talk, body language, and will retrain your brain to think positively towards achieving your aspirations.

2. Reward calendar

Sometimes completing tasks can feel boring or uninspiring. For those tasks that may take a while, have a reward system in place that you can use to take notes in your journal and track progress. Just think, “if I complete this, I will treat myself to a spa day” or for longer projects, an adventurous weekend holiday to the South of France. Trust me, it does wonders for your mental wellbeing and gives you a sense of excitement.

3. Listen to motivational speeches

Especially from fellow women! Successful women, who have made it, who know what you are going through. Listen to them daily, and it will change your mindset, they are inspiring, and you will learn something new each time! A great one that really sets the tone is with Karren Brady.

4. Get out in nature

If you have had a stressful day mostly surrounded by technology and chaos, leaving your phone at home and taking a 30-minute break to get for a walk or run in nature can really help to eliminate the tension build up inside. By spending time in nature, such as a park or field a forest and having that exposure to nature not only makes you feel better emotionally, it contributes to your physical wellbeing and has been said to have been found to reduce the risk of anxiety and depression

5. Tap into your favourite playlist

From punk rock to EDM, music is one of the best ways to kick back, unwind, and get lost in the beat, but it’s known that music can stimulate the body’s natural feel-good chemicals Endorphins. Put your favourite playlist on and witness the change in a healthier, happier you!
