How Should Long One Wait To Sleep With Someone

Dating and sex are the two complicated words that can’t be perch together on a single table, perhaps in the 19th century. However, this is 2020, and having sex on the first date has become the coolest trend to stand out in the friendship circle.

Nowadays, people don’t stress about what to wear or where to go for the first date. The question that pops up most of the time is, how long should I wait to have sex with my new partner? It’s a legit question though.

Released in 1994, the iconic TV series “Sex and the City” even stated the “three-date rule” – that means there should be a short waiting when it comes to hopping into bed. From the series, the three-date rule becomes immensely popularized. Even today, many people follow this rule. Nevertheless, as time passed, things changed, and sex on the first date becomes more generalized.

How long should I wait to sleep with someone?

As the various studies say:

  • Millennials should wait till the eight dates to have sex with a new partner. From understanding each other to getting the vibe to ignite, the two persons must be knowing what kind of relationship they are looking for.
  • Researchers also said to wait for at least 48 hours to ask for the second date, and an average person waits for three days. That means fewer conversations over texts or calls after the first date.

So, the answer to your question- how long should I wait to sleep with someone is when you are ready. If you are looking for a long-term relationship, the number of dates doesn’t matter; as long as you are both on the same page about the future and expectations.

Ideally, eight dates are the “acceptable” amount of time to wait before having sex with someone.

However, some researchers followed a test to know the thoughts of men and women about having sex on the first date.

And this example makes you better understand: An average person who identified as a man is cool with waiting for five dates, but the average person who identified as a woman leaned more towards waiting for nine dates.

That’s not over here. Studies have shown that people prefer to wait until the second date to kiss their partner, no matter how beautifully the first date ends.

The rule which everyone needs to know about how long should you wait to sleep with someone

Think this way: Why do most of the companies prefer to conduct multiple rounds of interviews? Why don’t the companies select the right candidate in the first round? Ever wondered why? They want to know the candidate they will hire to stand up physically, mentally, and emotionally. Anyone can ace up a single interview, but not everyone can be their best self. The same goes for dating.

Well, sleeping with someone on the first date is not something one should be ashamed about. People will not judge how quickly you jumped on the bed with someone (get the deeds done).

Basically, it’s all about you. What kind of relationship you’re seeking- a committed relationship or friends with benefits one.

We mean that if you are looking for a long-term healthy relationship, then it’s essential to see that this person is reliable in various backgrounds and situations. Sexual chemistry is more of a serious thing for a committed relationship.

How many dates are enough to know someone?

The date is just a nebulous term. No study or research can say how many dates are enough to know an individual. Some people get the first-date spark while others never, even if they have been to plenty of dates.

A date can be of any type, and it can be a one-on-one date or going out with groups of friends – this too counts as a date.

The number of dates doesn’t make it as meaningful; what matters the most is that whenever you find it right, just go with the flow. Get into a relationship and lovingly walk on the same path.

Wrapping up!

Sleeping with a new partner on the first date is one’s personal choice. From the above study, we can conclude that one should only move forward when they feel comfortable and supportive. Talk to your new partner, let them know what you are thinking, and ask them what their views are? That only can lead to a healthy relationship.
