8 oz spaghetti or other long pasta, 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 2 tbsp butter, 1 onion- finely chopped, 2 cloves of garlic -minced, 2 cups chicken broth, 1 cup heavy cream, 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup all-purpose flour, Salt and pepper, to taste, 1/4 tsp dried thyme, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 1 cup frozen peas, 1 cup sliced mushrooms


Grated Parmesan cheese, Chopped parsley, Breadcrumbs, Sliced almonds, Chopped fresh thyme or basil

Ingredients for garnishing

Cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 1

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the chicken and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually stir in the chicken broth, cream, Parmesan cheese, thyme, nutmeg, and bring to a simmer.
