Tuesdays with Morrie, An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life’s Greatest Lesson, 20th Anniversary Edition
A beautiful book by Mitch Albom. It is a well-knit story of an author visiting his old teacher. It is a story full of lessons given by the teacher, and it covers almost every aspect of life. It is a very light read, which doesn’t give you strict rules to follow or exercises to complete but only some simple life lessons. These lessons are woven by the way a conversation between the teacher and his student. Moreover, it is a very small book, so you don’t have to take out much time separately for this. Do check out this book.
Forty Rules of Love: A Novel of Rumi
A book like no other. This is not just a love story but something that emphasizes the religion of love, where love prevails over all the material things and beliefs. It is also about the companionship and friendship shared between Rumi and Shams of Tabriz. Rumi is a brilliant poet. His quotes and sayings will melt your heart. You find an article on his quotes on our page. The forty rules of love given by Shams will shake your conventional beliefs and will make you introspect. As humans, we all have certain questions in our minds; some people have it related to god, while some have it in relation to their existence. This book has the answer to a lot of such questions. It is pure magic. Wait no more to grab your copy.
The Alchemist, 25th Anniversary: A Fable About Following Your Dream
This is one heck of a book by Paulo Coelho. Do you ever find yourself stuck between what you love to do and what you are expected to do? Do you come across questions related to life and your dreams? If yes, this is a perfect book to grab. This book assures that trusting your instinct and following your heart can take you to heights you might have never even imagined. It is not a self-help book but a beautiful story of a shepherd who sets out in search of treasure. It is a simple story that does not require too much concentration but an open heart. It is a very small book and size friendly too. You can easily carry it with yourself and read it while traveling or in the break sessions.
The Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship: A Toltec Wisdom Book
A beautiful book by Don Miguel Ruiz. This book is based on the Toltec tradition. It is a guide about three fundamental things so closely related to human nature, that is, love, happiness, and freedom. It encourages the reader to question themselves and find out who they truly are. Because you cannot love others if you don’t know who you are and what you love. The journey of love begins with you. It consists of amazing life lessons about happiness too. Like, someone else is not responsible for your happiness, but only you are. It further talks about love. That we are nothing but an expression of love, this is a must-read book.
Milk and Honey
A splendid collection of poems written by Rupi Kaur. The book showcases love, lust, heartbreak, and revival. The smooth flow of the poems will not let you leave the book until you finish it. It is a very small read. Just grab your coffee along with this book—a perfect way to enjoy your winter evening.
Another wondersome book by Rupi Kaur. A must-read for the women out there. The book represents poems/stories on self-love and mental health issues. The poems beautifully touch every topic. This is another pocket-friendly book, and you will finish it in just an hour or so. Do not wait to order one for yourself.
Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help YouFind – and Keep – Love
This is a book that talks about the science of love. Written by a very learned psychiatrist and neurologist, Amir Levine, it touches on various topics related to attachment and explains various scientific reasons behind the same. It talks about human psychology when it comes to falling in love. It also puts light on various important factors for a healthy relationship like trust, loyalty, security, and freedom. Your Dreams Are Mine Now
A beautiful story by Ravinder Singh. It is based on the lives of two DU students who actively participate in college politics. Despite being from different courses, they connect and eventually fall in love. But they got very less time with each other to celebrate their love. Then a tragedy happened which separated them forever. But does love end with separation? No. Now, I don’t want to give you more spoilers; just grab your copy and enjoy reading.
All About Love: New Visions
A classic book by a feminist icon Bell Hooks. It is a New York Times bestseller. “The word ‘love’ is most often defined as a noun, yet we would all love better if we used it as a verb,” writes bell hooks as she comes out fighting and on fire in “All About Love. She is a critic. Her book talks about the void, bereftness, and the feeling of lovelessness in a person’s life. She talks about how romance is so overrated and that people overlook the feelings of love, compassion, and unity. This book is a perfect guide for healthy relationships.
Fed Up: Emotional Labor, Women, and the Way Forward
A fabulous book by Gemma Hartley. It tosses light on a very right feeling that almost every woman feels, that is, being ‘fed up with society. Women are divined to behave in a certain way, talk in a soft tone, have feminine behavior, manage work and home together, and many other things. This book talks about how fed up, and exhausted women are from showing up to society’s standards. The author, through her words, expresses the agony and frustration of women. This is a very relatable book. Try giving it a read.
Relationships are beautiful and cherishable. How close you are to each other depends upon your understanding and communication. These books can give you suggestions and advice, but you have to figure out what works best for you. I hope you liked our recommendations. Happy reading.
