Lipsticks are essential for my survival. I own a lot of them, and I like to think of them as my signature makeup essential. But imagine this… red lipstick on a first date?Â
I had spent countless hours researching what to do and what not to when meeting a potential partner for the first time. Many articles online recommend not wearing the color as it comes across as loud, flamboyant, and not-so-elegant. There’s an enigma around this color that draws opinions for conversations always.
Even a recent study at the University of Manchester found that men are indeed attracted to lipstick. The study claims that men, on average, spend about 7.3 seconds staring at a woman donning red! While pink-colored lipsticks only got the attention of 6.7 seconds!
Keeping all this in mind, I decided to do the bravest thing I have ever done probably – I wore a bright crimson L’Oréal Paris lipstick to my first date.

I paired my Pure Rouge with an LBD to be on the safe side while keeping my hair loose and stuck to minimal makeup. Needless to say, I was totally unsure at this point if I’m making the right decision.

Once I had the lipstick on, I couldn’t believe how well everything seemed! My best mode was on! Not only did it complete the look, but the color also accentuated my facial features and added a spark of charm! I felt a surge of confidence from within, a feeling of self-esteem flushed through, and I was ready to slay the da(te)y!
What’s more? It wasn’t all about me! My date couldn’t stop talking about how gorgeously put-together I looked, and he definitely had his eyes over my lips in between conversations! 😉

Anyway, guess what… the red lipstick sure served me well as we have planned a second date! Not to mention, he also complimented my smile. So yay!
