Small Production Choices Reflect Core Values

For me, sustainability is not a campaign. It is how I make choices every day. One of the toughest calls I made was to keep production small. It is so much cheaper to make more, but I do not want piles of clothes sitting around, ending up as waste. I would rather make fewer pieces that people actually wear.

That one decision says a lot about how I work. Customers can see we mean it when we talk about impact. And people in the industry know I do not cut corners to make life easier. I would rather do the harder thing and sleep at night knowing it was the right call.

I am not interested in following what every other brand is doing. I set my own standards and stick with them. It has given me a reputation for being serious, sometimes stubborn, but always consistent. And I am fine with that.

Balancing Beauty with Environmental Responsibility

My commitment to sustainable fashion has shaped the way I lead because it requires making choices that balance beauty with responsibility. Every pair of sunglasses we create is handcrafted from cotton-derived acetate, which means our materials reflect care for the planet as much as our design reflects care for the customer. Leading with sustainability has strengthened my reputation as a founder who values long-term integrity over shortcuts, and it has attracted a community of women who want their fashion choices to align with their values. That alignment has been one of the most rewarding parts of building my brand.

Purpose Alongside Profit in Every Decision

A major way my passion for sustainable fashion has influenced my decision-making as a business leader is by placing purpose alongside profit in every aspect of my brand. Every choice, from sourcing eco-conscious fabrics to partnering with women’s artisan cooperatives, is guided by sustainability. This mindset ensures that our growth doesn’t come at the expense of people or the planet and reinforces a culture of ethical, thoughtful decision-making within the company.

This focus has been central to building my professional reputation, positioning me as a leader who prioritizes long-term impact over short-term gain. It has opened doors to collaborations with like-minded partners, fostered trust with conscious consumers, and established us as a brand synonymous with quality, integrity, and responsibility. Sustainability is more than a guiding principle; it’s the perspective through which all business decisions are made, and it has become a defining element of how I am perceived as a leader.

Transform Waste into Profitable Opportunities

My commitment to sustainable fashion started very early in my career when I first joined a women-owned garment export company, where the heart of the business involves giving a second life to unsold inventory, production surplus, and cancelled shipments due to delayed deliveries through exporting them to various countries such as USA, Middle East, Canada and so on. I realized that by curating and redistributing this merchandise, we extend the lifecycle of those garments while enabling end customers to purchase quality fashion at a fraction of the price. A win-win for both the planet and the consumers who crave value and style.

Over time, I’ve made sustainability the focus of every decision I make as I believe that when we incorporate that into our business model, it can be profitable and powerful. I started utilizing creative strategies like repurposing surplus fabric into sellable collections, working with brands which went bankrupt to purchase their dead inventory, re-presenting them in a much better package in order to be able to resell and circulate them in the market. This has shaped my reputation into that of a person who has a good eye to turn waste into opportunities, and as a leader who is able to incorporate sustainability alongside profitability using various creative routes which are beneficial to everyone in the chain.
