How many times have you said the phrase, “I don’t have time?”
We invite you to take a deeper look into your life and ask yourself, “do you really not have time?” or is it more likely that “you really don’t want to do it?” What is it that you really want? Trying to implement new lifestyle changes can feel daunting.
Below are 5 tips to help you cultivate more of what you want and clear what you don’t have time for.
1. Ask yourself, what is it that you love?
Write down what makes you feel alive in one column and what depletes you in the other column. I recently discovered that getting outside first thing in the morning is a game-changer – breathing in the fresh air and having the sunlight on my body makes me feel alive and gives me energy for the day (even when it’s snowy and freezing outside)!

2. Make it small
This is crucial, you may not have an hour to take a yoga class or to catch up with your bestie from college, but all of us can find 5 minutes in our day. Spend 5 minutes stretching or calling a loved one (even leaving a voicemail can make you feel more connected). By making it small, you are making it easy to accomplish, and that sets you up for success. I would love it if I could go for a walk for an hour every morning, but if I get out for 5 minutes, it’s better than not going outside at all. Enjoy your win.

3. Be consistent. Little changes can produce major results
The beauty of 5-minute wins is that they set us up to cultivate new long-term habits because you are doing something you inherently love. The ripple effect of this is astounding, carrying through to beneficially impact all levels of your life (physical, mental and emotional).
4. Set boundaries
What are you flexible with, and what is non-negotiable? Women often say yes to most things. Before you say yes next time, think about if it’s something you really want to do. You will save yourself so much time and energy if you are honest with yourself. A friendly reminder, every time you say yes to something, you are saying no to something else.

5. Phone a friend
Are you still having a hard time? Get an accountability, buddy. You’re not the only one who wants to create the habit of a workout routine (or whatever it is your heart desires). Reach out to your network to find a buddy and hold each other accountable. It’s always more fun to do something with someone else!
